The Pleistocene Epoch...

is the stage set for your very own personal epic. Children of Gaea takes place in prehistoric North America and is about the indigenous folk who struggle to survive in its fierce primal environment. Players portray one of these aboriginal people, a member of a tribe, and use their hunting and survival skills to ensure both their and their fellow clansmen's continued existance. Life, death, love, hate, happiness, sadness; all of these and more are what the mud is about.

Role-playing is enforced and rewarded in CoG and player immersion will be paramount. Inappropriate names, behavior and use of in-game mechanics will not be tolerated.

Initially, players begin their adventure in the River Clan and can help to establish its livelihood and control over its game region. It will be assumed that new players have a degree of familiarity with fellow clan members but membership is voluntary. Should any player decide to leave the River Clan, they may freely become loners or possibly work towards forming their own clan. All clans, including the River Clan will have a single chief (male or female) and, normally, a single shaman (also male or female).

Although general guidelines regarding clan politics will be in place, over time, such elements may change as leadership changes and tribes develop. Marriage/bonding, sexual practices, seasonal rituals, specific tribal customs, etc., may change within a clan as it grows and expands. A core aspect of play in CoG will be based on the interaction of players within a clan as well as involvement with those outside it.

HOW DOES ONE CONNECT?

Some mudsites have built in applet or telnet applications that will attempt to connect to CoG with displayed connection links. A player may also use a mud client and manually enter the mud's address in its fields to connect. One example of such a client is shown on the Recommended page on this website (it is a free download and not shareware).

To connect to CoG, the mud address is omen.genesismuds.com and its port is 1500.
